How to Love Your Home Again (without spending a penny): Part One

Gratitude.

Welcome to Part One of my How to Love Your Home Again (without spending a penny) Blog Series! If you’ve been struggling to love your home, this seven part series is for you. Today we’re kicking things off by shifting our mindsets into the right place.

Yes, there may be things in your home you want to change.
Yes, there may be incomplete projects.
And yes, there may be a better/bigger/cuter home out there.

But if I had to guess, there’s also a lot of things your imperfect home is providing for you that we can celebrate right now. Today I want you to make a list of a minimum of five things you are grateful for regarding your home.

For example: I am grateful for the memories this house holds. I am grateful to have a safe place for my kids to sleep at night. I’m grateful for the location of my home. I am grateful for all the natural light in our home. I am grateful for my bathtub.

Often times, the visual reminder of unfinished projects and things we want to change about our homes clouds our ability to be thankful for all the good already have. Rather than spending our energy on the wants and lack, let’s spend some time focused on the needs that are being met.

Next in this series we’ll work on making some (free) adjustments within our home to move us towards loving it again. Be sure to pop back next week for more details.
